The Service Contract; A Panel Discussion

Description:This panel, designed for Managers and Supervisors, will allow for discussion
and questions about the service contract and the impact on funding levels.
È Workshop B or F: UBUNTU
Facilitator: Pat Singleton, Executive Director, Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank
Time and Date: Monday, May 5, 2003;

Description: Africans have a thing called "UBUNTU", which is about the essence of being human, embracing hospitality,
caring about others and going that extra mile for the sake of others. A recent Queen's Jubilee Medal recipient, Ms. Singleton will speak about
her life and the role the community has had in helping her through the joy and sorrow of her journey.

Facilitator: Tracey Brick, Manager, Algoma District Services Administration Board

Description: Ms. Brick will outline efforts to implement the mandatory addictions initiative.

assist clients in developing Self-Employment skills.
È Workshop H: Breaking Down the Barriers
Facilitator: Wade Grocott, Manager of Training and Development, Ontario Municipal Social Association (OMSSA)

Description: This half day session will focus on defining the "Harder to Employ" in your community and what strategies
have proven most effective in creating forward momentum. Participants will explore approaches that promote a mutually responsible
working relationship with diverse, multi-barriered clients.

Directions: From 401 - Take the Hwy 8
Kitchener - Waterloo exit and follow it all the
way into Kitchener. The highway will become King
St. as you follow the signs for Downtown Kitchener.
The Four Points Sheraton is located at the corner of Frederick St. and
King St., in the heart of the city, across from the green clock tower of
Market Square. From Hwy 86 - Hwy 86 becomes Conestoga Parkway. Follow it
to the Frederick St. exit and go right on Frederick. The fifth set of lights
is King St. and the hotel is on the southwest corner, across King St. from
the green clock tower of Market Square.
