5. Portfolios

President/Past President: Krista Atkinson
In holding the portfolio of President, my main role is to oversee the planning and organizing of the upcoming conferences. I am supportive of my Board members, and am available to all delegates for any feedback that may come my way. • I would like to take this opportunity to thank this year's conference organizing committee, the Board members, and you the delegates for making this year's AMES Conference a success. Hopefully some new friendships were established, thoughts stimulated and your spirits were fed.

If there is anyone with suggestions for future speakers, please feel free to contact a board member via email on our website. At this time I would like to announce that the AMES 2011 Conference will be hosted by the Region of Waterloo. We look forward to seeing you there.

Vice President/Membership: Mike Irwin
The Membership Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all information concerning membership and providing an updated version of the membership directory on an ongoing basis • Membership currently stands at 117. • Full (voting) membership is open to any employee of a service or program whose role is employment related and receives a portion of its core funding from both a municipality and any other government body.

As Vice President If appointed to do so by the President or in the absence of the President or in the event that the President's office is vacant, the Vice-president shall perform all duties and functions of the President

Newsletter: Beth Langille
Beth is retiring after 4 years on the board. In an effort to keep the AMES board “green”, Beth started sending the newsletter via email.

Treasurer: Kelly Scott
Duties of Treasurer consist of ongoing maintenance of books for AMES including issuance of payments for services provided, receipt of payments for membership and conference related attendance, submission of HST claims to Revenue Canada, development of annual budget as agreed upon by Board members, all bank related correspondence, regular communication with accounting firm for collection of information as needed as well as annual financial statement

Promotions: Ann Stokes
Representing AMES at other conferences, promotional materials, etc.
Purchased AMES pads and pens made for marketing.
Attended OMSSA with pres to promote AMES to Managers/Supervisors. Also, networked with other agencies while there.

Special Projects: Anne Trottier
Basically the role of Special Projects is to maintain the Website throughout the year, is in charge of the camera and takes pictures throughout each conference. The Special Project member also takes on any new projects that is not typically in the conference such as a powerpoint presentation of past conferences.

Conference Co-Chairs: Marie Malcolm and Cheryl Parlett
Heading the conference committee in organizing and executing the 2010 conference.

Secretary: Kristy Jacobs
Kristy has held the secretary position for 2 years. The secretary portfolio is responsible for creating and distributing the meeting agendas, minutes, etc.
